Blaupunkt, the Germany-based consumer lifestyle and technology brand, today announced entry into the mobile phone accessories segment. India is the first country where Blaupunkt mobile phone accessories would be launched globally. The plans include launching Blaupunkt smartphones, smart watches and phablets in the Indian and the SAARC markets –Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. New Delhi-based Vidur and Co., one of India’s leading IT and telecom products distributors, will launch above Blaupunkt branded products in the Indian and SAARC markets through an exclusive brand licensing agreement. Blaupunkt Forays into Mobile Phone Accessories Segment To begin with Blaupunkt’s mobile phone accessories will be available in categories like wire earphones, Bluetooth earphones, wired headphones, power banks, data and charging cables, car chargers, wall-mount chargers, wireless charging dock etc. ‘Blau Punkt’, German for ‘Blue Dot’, has been a symbol` of quality and excellence for over 90 years. The brand promises the same qualities in its mobile phone accessories. All Blaupunkt products launched in the new categories are Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant and lead-free. Blaupunkt would be the first brand to offer a full range of mobile accessories – from data cables, earphones, phone chargers to power banks, etc. Consumers will now have the option to buy the best in class German-quality mobile accessories at India-relevant pricing. Blaupunkt aims to capture the leadership position in this segment within a short span of time. Blaupunkt would also be the first mobile phone accessories brand to operate a dedicated after-sales customer service centre in India, ensuring that the consumer experience is never compromised. “India represents one of the fastest-growing mobile phone markets in the world today, having crossed a milestone of 1 billion mobile users this year. Beyond the numbers, Indian smartphone consumers are spending never-before time with their smartphones, fuelling demand for mobile accessories such as power supplies, earphones and data cables. We are excited to be present in this dynamic market. Vidur & Co. and Blaupunkt have done extensive research to understand the current consumer pain points and the need gaps of the local customers during the use of mobile accessories. These have been addressed through several innovations, which are being introduced into the products. The products have been customised for performance under Indian condition and while keeping factors such as durability in mind, which is intrinsic to German promise of quality. For example, select models of earphones have special duress-resistant wires, which significantly increases their life and brings down the wear and tear. The car chargers also double up as life-saving devices in emergency situations. They can be used to cut seat belts or to break the windshields. All products have undergone strict quality tests before they are introduced into the market. Blaupunkt Data and Charging Cable Blaupunkt USB charging cables (6 variants) are Apple certified, and they have been certified by International Certification bodies (UL and RoHS Compliance Certified). These cables use excellent quality contact terminals for good conduction and high data transfer speed, and they ensure a tangle-free experience because of the high-quality 1M braided cable. Some high-end cables have special Zinc Alloy connectors. Even the connectors for PVC cables have a unique grip design, not seen in other cables.
