LG Electronics India, a leading consumer durables brand in the country, has opened a new manufacturing line for SIDE BY SIDE refrigerators at its facility in Pune. This move aligns with the Indian Prime Minister’s vision of Make in India and Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Mission (Self-Reliant India), which aims to promote local manufacturing and reduce dependence on imports.
The new manufacturing line was inaugurated in the presence of top executives from LG Electronics, including Hyun Uk Lee, Global Refrigerator President, and Hong Ju Jeon, Managing Director of LG Electronics India. Also present at the event were Mr. Hyoung Sub Ji, Director of Home Appliances & Air conditioners at LG Electronics India, and other senior dignitaries.
The new facility, which was built with an investment of approximately Rs. 200 crores, is equipped with advanced technologies and machinery. It will produce not only SIDE BY SIDE refrigerators but also Double-door and Single-door refrigerators. This will increase the company’s production capacity and help it meet the growing demand for refrigerators in the Indian market.
