Huawei, the third largest smartphone maker in the world has announced the new EMUI 8.0 which is Huawei’s own User Interface, on top of Android. It is now based on the latest Android Oreo and it will be available on eligible devices soon.

Huawei claims that the new EMUI 8.0 will deliver a quality user experience, aided by AI-powered Real-Time Scene and Object Recognition, Smart Tips, and AI Accelerated Translator. Intelligent Resource Allocation, Intelligent Context Awareness, User Behavior or Intelligent Behavior Prediction are some of the AI capabilities available with the EMUI 8.0. In terms of customization and added features, there are quite a few of those, including one-hand operation navigation dock, pinned shortcuts, customized themes, private space optimization, simplified settings, accessibility to recently deleted documents.

Commenting on the EMUI 8.0, a Huawei R&D Spokesperson said, “The upgraded EMUI 8.0 is avant-garde technological software which is efficient, secure and above all, user-friendly. Eradicating lag, they can witness a faster and smarter phone experience, powered by advanced AI technological features. The update significantly cuts down on the number of steps needed to achieve the desired function through its smart applications like navigation dock and smart screen and enables the user to reach 90% of the core functions in just a single click. We have developed the EMUI 8.0 for those who live and work on-the-go.”

The all-new EMUI 8.0 comes with features like Smart Resolution, dynamic wallpaper, navigation bar customizations and more. As compared to the EMUI 5.1, the new UI provides a simplified interface enabling an easy single touch switching between user spaces, prompt data transfer and quick file sharing abilities.

Intelligent split-screen interface, navigation dock, simplify one-hand operation and smart view on the landscape mode and easy switch are some of the benefits users will enjoy having on their phones. EMUI 8.0 also provides smart tips basis of user behavior and requirements.

The latest flagship from Huawei’s sub-brand Honor, the Honor View 10 comes with EMUI 8.0 out of the box and it will also be available on the upcoming Honor 9 Lite. The Honor 8 Pro, Honor 9i, Honor 7X, and Honor 8 Lite will receive the same in the near future via an OTA update.
