iQOO 3 Orange Variant

iQOO has finally made its entry to the Indian smartphone market by launching the all-new iQOO 3 smartphone. It’s not just the company’s first smartphone in India, but also, it’s the first 5G smartphone in the country. However, there is a 4G variant of the phone as well.

In terms of specs, the iQOO 3 is a flagship phone which offers solid hardware and gaming-centric features. The iQOO 3 features a 6.4-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display. The phone has a screen to body ratio of 91.40%, and the display is HDR10+ certified. The display has 180Hz Super Touch Response rate, which means that the phone has a 50% higher-touch response scanning than most other phones. In terms of scratch resistance, the phone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on both the front and the back.

The iQOO 3 is powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 865 SoC coupled with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and Adreno 650 GPU. The 8GB variant of the phone comes with 128GB onboard storage. In contrast, the 12GB variant comes with 256GB onboard storage; however, on the top variant of the devices, there is UFS 3.1 storage, which is significantly faster.

In terms of camera, the phone comes with a quad-camera setup on the back, which may sound pretty standard for 2020. But, things are quite different from others here. There is a 48MP Sony IMX582 sensor as a primary camera. Along with that, there is a 13-megapixel telephoto lens, another 13-megapixel wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

Quad-camera setup on smartphones is standard these days, but iQOO has focused on a significant concern raised by many, i.e., improving the wide-angle and telephoto lens. Rather than going for just an 8-megapixel gimmicky wide-angle lens on many phones, iQOO uses a 13-megapixel lens, which offers higher levels of sharpness. Also, the 13-megapixel telephoto lens provides up to 20X zoom so that capturing distant objects in great detail is never an issue. There are features like Super Anti-shake that use the EIS algorithm with an ultra-wide-angle lens. While recording a video, it can perform real-time image stabilization processing by cutting and processing the edges of the screen.

The phone runs Android 10 out of the box with iQOO UI 1.0 skin on top, packed with features. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G VoLTE, and other typical connectivity options like dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1. The phone uses a USB-C port for charging and data transfer. The iQOO 3 packs a large 4400mAh battery, which supports charging speeds of up to 55 Watts, making it possible to charge the phone from 0%-50% in just fifteen minutes. iQOO calls it Super Flash Charge, and yes, it’s speedy and one of the fastest in the industry right now.

iQOO 3 is available in three attractive color options – Quantum Silver, Tornado Black, and Volcano Orange. It’ll go on sale starting from March 4, 2020, at 12 noon on Flipkart and iqoo.com. The three variants are priced at INR 36,990 (8+128GB 4G), INR 39,990 (8+256GB 4G) and INR 44,990 (12+256GB 5G).

iQOO 3 is not just any other flagship phone, but it tries to bridge the gap between a flagship phone and a gaming phone with various features that are intended for gamers. iQOO 3 comes with a Carbon Fiber Vapor Cooling System that improves heat dissipation so that the phone stays cool during intense gaming. It also has two pressure-sensitive buttons on the side of the phone, called Monster Touch Buttons. These buttons let users use quick multi-finger operations in the game. There is Monster Mode, which lets users allocate all the resources for CPU or GPU intensive tasks like gaming or video rendering.
