LG Electronics India has announced the eight edition of Mallika-E-Kitchen Cooking Contest. It is India’s biggest amateur chefs’ cooking competition which targets around 8000 participants across 65 cities in India. The aim of the competition is to educate the Indian homemakers on the importance of healthy food and offer a unique opportunity to exhibit their talent.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Vijay Babu, Vice President, Home Appliances & Air Conditioners, LG Electronics India Pvt. Ltd, said, “Mallika-E-Kitchen Cooking Contest by LG has become a nationwide event to celebrate the spirit of tasty and healthy home cooking. This competition is directed towards the advanced benefits and uses of the microwave oven while cooking. We at LG have constantly tried to enhance customer convenience and develop products that work the best for the Indian way of life.  This competition is a great opportunity for people to come together and express their love for food and cooking.”

The contest first started 10 years back, in 2009 as a part of a series of sub-activities initiated towards educating the consumers about the benefits of microwave oven cooking. This contest has no evolved to be a platform for women of the country to showcase their culinary skills at a national level. The contest has three stages and runs for three months, across the nation.

In the local round, the participants need to bring pre-cooked microwave dishes along with the written recipes. The winning recipes will win an LG Solo Microwave Oven and also be qualified for the Zonal round beginning from  July 15th, 2019. A total of three winners will be selected from each Zonal Level round and given the entry ticket for the grand finale along with a trophy. In the grand finale on August 10th, 2019, a total of 12 zonal winners will compete against each other for the title. Mallika-E-Kitchen Cooking Contest that promotes cooking and healthy food, over anything else and LG terms it as ‘a unique competition’ that further strengthens LG’s presence in the home appliances category.
