Huawei’s subsidiary brand Honor has launched their latest flagship phone, the Honor View 10 in India and has priced it aggressively at Rs. 29,999. The Honor View 10 is powered by the extremely powerful Kirin 970 chipset which includes an onboard Neural-Network Processing Unit (NPU) that understands consumers behavior and type of interaction with the phone, and accordingly, it optimizes the phone. The Honor View 10 will go on sale exclusively via Amazon India, on January 8 midnight and registrations are already rolling.
The main USP of the Honor View 10 is the camera, as it comes with a dual rear camera setup having a 16MP and 20MP sensor on the back. It sports a 5.99-inch 18:9 full-HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 403ppi, with minimum bezels on top and bottom. The phone is powered by Huawei developed HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC (4XCortex-A73@2.36GHz, 4XCortex-A53@1.8GHz) and an i7 coprocessor, coupled with 6GB of RAM. The phone comes with 128GB inbuilt storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. However, Huawei has opted for a hybrid dual-SIM and microSD Card configuration instead of a dedicated microSD slot. Connectivity options on the Honor View 10 include 4G VoLTE, dual-band (2.4GHz + 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, Infrared, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C (2.0), and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device packs a 3750mAh battery with 5V/ 4.5A fast charging support.
As Honor is ready to face off the OnePlus 5 or 5T, the flagship killers, by providing solid performance and power, while keeping the price tag as low as possible, Huawei has announced a few launch offers. Consumers, who purchase the Honor View 10 can get Rs. 1,500 instant discount when they pay via ICICI Credit Cards. However, this offer will be valid only up to 10th January 2018. There will also be low-cost EMI options, valid for the launch day only. Huawei said in a press release that the Honor View 10 will have a 9v-2Ampere Quick charger bundled with the phone, standard USB-C cable and a protective case and pre-attached screen-guard in the package.
Announcing the financing options and other launch-related details, P Sanjeev, Vice-President Sales, Huawei India-Consumer Business Group said, “We are thrilled to launch the true AI phone to the Indian consumers: Honor View 10, with unique no-cost EMI and discount offer in association with ICICI Bank. Consumers can enroll for these offers exclusively on Amazon.in starting Sunday midnight. We urge consumers to make maximum use of these offers.”
Camera and AI are the most talked things about the Honor View 10 and in terms of performance as well, Huawei has claimed that compared to a quad-core Cortex-A73 CPU cluster, the Kirin 970’s new heterogeneous computing architecture delivers up to 25 times faster performance and a 50 times increase in efficiency when performing AI tasks. In an image recognition test, the Kirin 970 chip processed over 2,000 images per minute – much faster than other chips in the market. The Kirin 970 supports LTE Cat.18 DL and Cat.13 UL connections and achieves a peak download speed of 1.2Gbps, supporting the highest possible download speed on any carrier networks worldwide.
Even while using the camera, the AI plays a big role with the help of Real-Time Scene and Object Recognition technology, which identifies different types of scenes and objects. The Honor View 10 intelligently identifies 13 pre-defined scenes including blue sky, nightscape, sunset/sunrise, beach, portrait, performance, flowers, plant, snow, cat, dog and text. The camera automatically adjusts settings to produce the perfect shot. The camera instantly sets the best parameters by adjusting colors, contrast, brightness, and exposure, to make your photos better than ever.
Huawei has partnered with Microsoft to optimize Microsoft Translator for Honor View 10. AI Accelerated Translator software delivers instantaneous translation without being connected to the internet and as per the brand, the new Kirin 970’s powerful NPU makes translation more than 500 percent faster than other smartphones running the same app. For social media, the AI helps to enhance the Image Resolution so that even after zooming in a low-quality picture on social networks and the resolution can be increased. It works on popular apps like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp etc.
The Honor View 10 Registration is now open on Amazon India, and after registering there, the handset can be purchased on January 8, 2018.
