Huawei, the world’s third largest smartphone manufacturer has announced the EMUI 5.0, which is Huawei’s own custom skin build on top of Android. The new EMUI 5 will a better experience with features like one-button navigation, Intuitive Interactions, machine learning and improved security. In terms of design, the EMUI 5 is inspired by Aegean Sea blue, with pure white colors throughout the whole UI.

The new UI is based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The simplified user interface ensures easier switching between user spaces with a single touch, instant data transfer, and faster file sharing capabilities. EMUI 5 also ensures proper resource allocation based on user’s habits so that there is ample amount of resources available when needed.

Huawei announces the EMUI 5.0 Honor 8 Lite to get it first

With the new UI, Huawei has developed a fast memory recycling mechanism that combines an exclusive memory compression technology to dynamically increase available memory and performance. The brand has claimed that with the new EMUI 5, any phone running it won’t require manual cleaning as it will be done automatically in the background.

The new EMUI 5.0 also features ‘Privacy Space’ that switches access using a revamped fingerprint technology. It also combines both cloud-based dynamic and static antivirus with a local antivirus and it scans hyperlinks in SMS in real time to alert users regarding any phishing or dangerous link.

“We often hear users complaining about the lag and boring experience that is experienced in Android devices post prologue usage. The new EMUI 5.0, is more efficient, secure, and user friendly. It “significantly cuts down on the number of steps needed to achieve the desired function,” said a Huawei RnD spokesperson.He further added “The user can now reach 90% of the core functions in just two to three clicks. Additionally, users can jump between their professional and personal lives effortlessly with profiles now being able to run in parallel – no switching of phones necessary.”

EMUI 5.0 also features Huawei Share, which helps in easy and seamless sharing between Huawei Honor phones and pads, enhanced Notepad functionalities and much more other features. The App Twin feature allows users to manage multiple accounts on the same app.

The new EMUI 5.0 reinforces multiple Indian customizations such as languages, themes, and calendar. The EMUI continues to support Huawei’s proprietary SOS feature, which can be activated in any emergency situation by pressing user defined buttons. The UI continues to support 14 languages including TamilTeluguPunjabi KannadaGujarati, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Assamese, Nepali, Malayalam, Oriya, Urdu, and Maithili.

As of now, the newly launched Honor 8 Lite has got the EMUI 5.0 and Honor 8, Honor 6X, Honor 5C and Huawei P9 will soon receive the update by the end of this month.
