Transsion Holdings-owned brand Tecno has launched its latest budget smartphone in India which is perhaps the only phone after Infinix Smart 4 that packs a massive 6000mAh battery and is priced under ₹10,000. Tecno Pova is the phone that has just been launched today, and it will compete fiercely with the recently launched Micromax In Note 1. Tecno Pova starts at ₹9,999 and the phone will be sold exclusively via Flipkart.

Tecno Pova features a 6.8-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 20.5:9 & a 90.4% screen-to-body ratio. The phone is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G80 octa-core chipset clocked at 2.0 GHz paired with a Mali-G52 GPU and 4GB or 6GB of RAM. In terms of storage also, there are two options. The 4GB RAM variant comes with 64GB onboard storage whereas the 6GB storage variant comes with 128GB onboard storage. However, there is a dedicated microSD card slot as well for memory expansion up to 256GB. As per Tecno, this kind of hardware paired with its HyperEngine Game Technology will be able to provide superb image quality, smooth game-play and ensure uninterrupted connectivity to gamers, and will also help regular users in various ways.

In terms of camera, Tecno Pova sports a quad-camera setup on the back consisting of a 16-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.85 aperture. Along with that, there are two 2-megapixel sensors for macro and portrait shots. There is a dedicated AI lens as well. The rear camera of Tecno Pova is capable of recording up to 2K (1440p) videos at 30 fps. Interestingly, on Tecno Pova there is a quad-LED flash. The rear camera can capture bokeh, macro shots as well as Slow-Mo at 120fps. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. The front-facing camera features various modes like AI Selfie, AI Beauty, Wide Selfie, Night Portrait, AI HDR, and AR Shot, and many more.

In terms of connectivity, Tecno Pova has got all the standard options like 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS. The phone comes with a Micro-USB, port for charging and data transfer and the phone also doesn’t skip a 3.5mm headphone jack. As mentioned earlier, Tecno Pova packs a huge 6000mAh battery with support for 18W dual IC fast-charging. The phone runs Android 10 out of the box with the brand’s own HiOS 7.0 skin on top. 

Tecno Pova starts at ₹9,999 for the variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage where the variant with 6GB RAM and 128 GB storage is priced at ₹11, 999. The phone will go on sale starting December 11 at noon on Flipkart.
