HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, today announced the all-new Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus in India. These smartphones bring popular all-screen designs while providing high-end hardware along with smart AI imaging features at very competitive prices. Both the phones will be sold via Flipkart and Nokia’s Official E-Store.

Commenting on the launch of these two new phones from Nokia, Ajey Mehta, Vice President and Country Head – India, HMD Global, said, “The Indian consumers are a top priority for us. We constantly work to understand their needs and enhance the experience on our phones to better suit them. The launch of Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus represents an important milestone for us in India. We have a strong presence in the offline space and with these phones today, we are strengthening our reach to our online consumers and their needs.”

The Nokia 6.1 Plus brings a fresh design sporting a 5/8-inch fullHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and 96% color gamut, which produces vibrant colors to provide a great viewing experience. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Chipset, coupled with 4GB of RAM providing the best in class performance and also it is 40% faster than the previous iteration of the chipset.

In terms of imaging, there is a dual camera set up on the back consisting of a 16MP and a 5MP camera sensor, which will provide great amount of sharpness and detail to the picture you shoot as well as selectable bokeh blur, which can be adjusted in real-time when you take the image, while HDR will provide incredible colour depth, and advanced AI imaging fine-tunes images and there is also the portrait lighting to add captivating lighting effects to your shots.

On the front, there is a 16MP front camera, which can work along with the real camera to capture Bothie and masks and filters can be added during a live stream on Facebook and YouTube. The Nokia 6.1 is priced at Rs. 15,999 is available in three color variants- Gloss Black, Gloss White, and Gloss Midnight Blue.

The pre-orders start soon and shipping will begin August 31. There will be launch offers like no-cost EMIs data offers bundled with the phone. The Nokia 6.1 is launched under the Android One program, running Android 8.1 Oreo and due to the Android One program, the device is expected to get fast guaranteed updates in future. The phone packs a 3060mAh battery.

Along with the Nokia 6.1 Plus, HMD Global has also introduced the Nokia 5.1 Plus. The phone is powered by the advanced MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM which will ensure great gaming and multitasking performance.

In terms of camera, there is a dual 13MP+5MP dual rear camera setup with electronic image stabilization, while on the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera. The phone features a 5.8-inch HD+ display with 2.5D curved front and rear glass. The price of the phone has not been announced yet, but HMD Global has stated that as the sales start in September, the pricing will be revealed.
