Yesterday, along with the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi 4 in India, Xiaomi launched the Mi Router 3C, which is their first smart router in India. The Xiaomi Mi Router 3C is priced at Rs. 1,199 which is a killer pricing for such a device. The Mi Router 3C will be available from May 20 at the Mi Home store in Bengaluru and later on May 23, it will ba available on Mi.com. Starting on June 8, the router will be made available via Amazon India and Flipkart.
The Xiaomi Mi Router 3C is being said to be user-friendly, having high speed and range. The router can be setup and managed using the Mi Wi-Fi app that is available for both Android and iOS devices.
The Mi Router 3C features four high-performance antennae that Mi says, each feature a dedicated PCB circuit. the brand also claims that it has a 2-transmit, 2-receive antenna design, which according to Xiaomi, improves both the Wi-Fi range up to 80 meters and the stability of the signal.
The router has 64MB of RAM, which Xiaomi has claimed to be eight times of what most of the routers in the market offer and a wireless speed of 300Mbps. The router can connect up to 64 devices (20 computing devices and 44 IoT devices). The router supports the 802.11n Wi-Fi protocol at 2.4GHz. It comes with two LAN ports and one RJ45 WAN port. There is a three-colour LED indicator as well. It measures 195x107x25.3mm and the antennae extend up to 178.90mm.
Xiaomi has aid that with the Mi Wi-Fi app, users will be able to monitor the bandwidth usage in real time and the router will also utilize QoS to prioritize bandwidth. Mi Router 3C users will also have access to pre-configured guest sharing for a Wi-Fo network and parental controls.
