LG Electronics today announces its new line up of speakers featuring Artificial Intelligence (AI) under their ThinQ platform and Meridian Audio. There is a series of speakers under the PK Series, and LG has also launched the new XBOOM AI ThinQ WK7.

Commenting on this occasion, Mr Younchul Park, Director- Home Electronics, LG Electronics India said, “As technology is pervasive and ever-changing, we have been witnessing a lot of exciting new trends coming our way, one of which is definitely artificial intelligence. With this evolving trend, we are happy to present the new range of speakers equipped with AI technology. LG XBOOM AI ThinQ WK7 is an innovative speaker with Meridian Technology to provide high fidelity sound, along with AI integration and Google Assistant built in, providing a great music experience along with the power of the AI. It is designed in a cylindrical form as a sit at home as a standalone speaker, and is one of the first products with built-in Google’s new Android Things platform, with which users will be able to interact with Google for information, get reports on the weather or to check the calendar, place calls as well as control a whole range of smart home devices.

The LG XBOOM AI ThinQ WK7 Hi-Resolution Audio speaker can playback lossless stereo audio at up to 24-bit/96kHz quality and supports 24-bit upsampling which can convert lower-resolution audio to a high-resolution 24-bit format for a more premium listening experience. It also has Chromecast built in, which will let users connect it to a home entertainment system and will also provide the ability to control devices using voice. LG XBOOM AI ThinQ WK7 is priced at Rs.27,990.

LG has also announced the PK Series, which is aimed towards a great audio experience along with the convenience of mobility. Speakers from this series come with a handle that makes it easy to pick up and carry the speaker. The front of the speaker features the grille offering a glimpse of its dual tweeters and woofers. The dual passive radiators enable the speakers to get a better bass performance without using more power or additional speakers. Together with Meridian, it delivers an exceptional sound experience and comes with Clear Vocal, and Enhanced Bass presets for uncompromising performance. ‘Clear Vocal’ allows users to listen to the singers crisp and detailed vocals without distortion at the highest volume while the ‘Enhanced Bass’ mode creates deeper bass tones.

These PK Series speakers from LG are first of the kind in the market which in a way offers the mobility of having a Google Assistant in the speaker. You can activate the Google assistant in your phone by a button provided on the speaker, can give commands via the speaker like playing a song and it would start playing on the speaker using the connected music service you’ve with your Google account. That’s a really good option. 

The PK Series of speakers also come with Voice commands which helps users control the speaker with voice. The speaker comes with IPX5 rating making it weather & splash-proof, hence, it allows users to use it by the pool or even under the sprinklers. The built-in microphone automatically filters audio making the calls loud and clear. The speaker also synchronizes its built-in LED light to the rhythm of the music to create a pulsing light show for any song, and the built-in battery allows up to twenty hours of music playback. There are three variants under the PK Series- PK3, PK5, and PK7, priced at Rs.10,990, Rs.14,990, Rs.22,990 respectively.
