Samsung Electronics, on Friday, launched the Samsung Portable SSD T5 in India. This new portable solid state drive uses the company’s latest 64-layer V-NAND technology which helps it achieve industry-leading transfer speeds of up to 540MBps with encrypted data security.

The Samsung Portable SSD T5 is available in two distinct metal finishes – Deep Black (1TB and 2TB models) and Alluring Blue (250GB and 500GB models) and here is the price starts from Rs. 13,500 for 250GB and it goes up to Rs. 21,000 for 500GB, Rs. 40,000 for 1TB, and Rs. 80,000 for 2TB models.

The new Samsung Portable SSD T5 is designed for content creators, business and IT professionals aiming towards the fast and reliable way of accessing data. Samsung also says the T5 is smaller than an average business card (at 74×57.3×10.5mm) and weighs as little as 51 grams, which makes it ultra portable while retaining the super fast transfer capabilities.

Samsung has also claimed the T5 can withstand accidental drops of up to two meters or 6.6 feet as it is just like most of the SSDs, and has no moving parts along with a shock-resistant internal frame. The Samsung Portable SSD T5 also features optional 256-bit AES encryption and it has a USB Type-C port, along with a USB Type-C to Type-A cable.

The Samsung Portable SSD T5 will be available at all major retail outlets from August 28 onwards via major retail stores across India.
