Huawei’s subsidiary brand Honor has launched three new devices in India- Honor 9X smartphone, Magic Watch 2 smartwatch, and Band 5i. The Honor 9X launched in India is, however, a bit different compared to the variant that was launched in China a few months ago.

Commenting on the launch, Charles Peng, President, Honor India said, “Honor has always believed in raising the bar when it comes to empowering its consumers with the latest technology that resonates with their lifestyle. Our latest flagship offerings – Honor 9X, Honor MagicWatch 2, and Honor Bond 5i, perfectly blends with the brand’s TechChic positioning and devise industry’s leading technologies.” He further added, “The success of the Honor X series is a testament of our consumers’ love and support for the brand and the new Honor 9X will further bring an all-new experience with the brand’s first pop-up selfie camera. With the launch of these new devices, we take a step towards further fortifying our commitment of offering and expanded product portfolio to our consumers in India.”

The Honor 9X sports a 6.59-inch full-HD+ display with a pixel density of 391ppi. The screen-to-body ratio is pretty impressive here at 91%. The phone is powered by Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 710F SoC paired with up to 6GB of RAM. There are two variants based on RAM- 4GB and 6GB. However, both the variants have 128GB onboard storage, and the memory can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.

In terms of camera, the Honor 9X comes with a triple camera setup on the back. There is a 48-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and AIS Super Night mode support. Along with that, there is an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 120° field of view, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor for portrait shots. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel pop-up camera for selfies and video calls.

The Honor 9X runs Android 9 Pie out of the box with Huawei’s EMUI skin on top. The phone packs a 4000mAh battery with pretty regular, 10W charging via a USB-C port. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, GPS, and GLONASS. The 4GB RAM variant of Honor 9X is priced at Rs. 13,999, whereas the 6GB RAM variant is priced at Rs. 16,999. The Honor 9X is available in two colors- Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue.

Honor 9X will be available for purchase exclusively on Flipkart starting from midnight on 19 January. On the first day of sale, buyers will get a flat Rs. 1000 discount on the purchase of the 4GB RAM variant of Honor 9X. ICICI Bank credit card and Kotak Mahindra debit or credit cardholders can avail of a 10% discount on purchases made between 19 January and 22 January 2020. There are Jio benefits worth Rs. 2,200 bundled with every purchase of Honor 9X.

The Honor Magic Watch 2 is a smartwatch that comes in two variants- 42mm and 46mm. The Honor Magic Watch 2 has a stainless steel build and has a 1.2-inch or 1.39-inch AMOLED display. Honor claims that the 42mm variant has seven days battery life with heart rate monitoring and GPS activated, while the 46mm variant has got double the battery life at two weeks. The Honor Magic Watch 2 is powered by Kirin A2 chipset and offers 5ATM water resistance.

The Magic Watch 2 comes with Huawei TruSleep 2.0, which is capable of diagnosing six common types of sleep disorders. Also, it offers AI-powered Huawei TruSeen 3.5 enabling 24×7 heart-rate monitoring. The Honor Magic Watch 2’s 46mm model starts at Rs. 12,999 for the Charcoal Black variant, while the Flax Brown color option is priced at Rs. 14,999. The 42mm model costs Rs. 11,999 for the Agate Black variant, while the Sakura Gold variant is priced at Rs. 14,999. The Honor Magic Watch 2 will go on sale starting 12 PM onwards on 18 January for Amazon Prime members first. Then on 19 January, it will be available for purchase to regular customers.

Today, Honor Band 5i was also launched. It is an affordable smart band that comes with a price tag of just Rs. 1,999. The Honor Band 5i sports a 0.96-inch touch-sensitive color display along with a capacitive button below it. Honor claims that the 91mAh battery inside can make the Honor Band 5i last for up to 9 days. The Honor Band 5i has a 3-axis inertial sensor, optical heart rate sensor, and infrared sensor.

The Honor Band 5i comes with while 5ATM water resistance, and it connects to smartphones via Bluetooth 4.2. For fitness tracking, there are nine sports modes. The Honor Band 5i has features similar to that of Magic Watch 2. Additionally, it will soon offer SpO2 monitoring through an OTA update so that it will be able to track Oxygen saturation levels in the bloodstream. Honor Band 5i plugs into a USB port, and it takes one and a half hours to get fully charged. Just like the Honor Magic Watch 2, Honor 5i will as well go on sale starting 12 PM onwards on 18 January for Amazon Prime members first. Regular customers can purchase it, starting from 19 January.
