Huawei Consumer Business Group has today unveiled the Huawei Nova Series of smartphones under which the new Huawei Nova 3 and Nova 3i came to India. The main highlight of these two phones is the presence of quad cameras and AI-based capabilities which will provide great photography experience and optimized performance at every step.

Commenting on the launch of Huawei Nova series in India, Mr. Allen Wang, Director, Product Centre, HUAWEI India Consumer Business Group, said, “Having operated in India successfully for 18+ years and with a key focus on enhancing our R&D capabilities, we are uniquely positioned to enrich the lives of our customers in India. The Huawei Nova series phones come with advanced imaging technology, and not just with hardware, using the AI Huawei wants to provide a completely new experience for their users in terms of photography. The AI can recognize different types of scenes to optimize the photos in eight different categories out of more than 200 scenarios ranging from Blue Sky and Plant to Beach and Night. The Huawei Nova 3 and Nova 3i sports dual front-facing cameras- A 24MP primary camera and 2MP secondary camera for depth sensing. Along with that AI works behind the back to make sure that the photos look good without facial imperfections and natural-looking skin tones. In terms of the rear camera, the Huawei Nova 3i features a 16MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. On the Nova 3, there is a 24MP monochrome and a 16MP RGB sensor with dual f/1.8 wide aperture 6p lenses.

Both the Huawei Nova 3 and Nova 3i are powered by Huawei’s proprietary Kirin SoCs. The Huawei Nova 3i is powered by the Kirin 710 SOC, coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage which is Huawei’s first 12nm chip with an improved Image Signal Processor (ISP) and a new Digital Signal Processor (DSP) for video processing. The Huawei Nova 3 is powered by the Kirin 970 SOC, with 6GB of RAM and 128 onboard storage, and the SoC on the phone features a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to have advanced AI capabilities. As per the company, the Ambient light sensor, Infrared sensor and the Proximity sensor, present of both these devices allow users to unlock the phone using their faces under any lighting conditions.

Both of these phones come with dual SIM card slots with support for true dual 3G VoLTE support. The phones run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with Huawei’s own EMUI 8.2 on top. The Huawei Nova 3 packs a 3750mAh battery whereas the Nova 3i packs a slightly smaller 3340mAh battery. The Huawei Nova 3 is priced at Rs. 34,999 and the Nova 3i is priced at Rs. 20990.
