Nokia 8, the latest flagship from Nokia under HMD Global has finally arrived here to give everyone a taste of bothies, stunning photos, and blazingly fast performance. The Nokia 8 is priced at Rs. 36,999 which is a fair pricing as far as the hardware and features, along with Nokia’s brand value is considered. The highlights of the Nokia 8 are mainly the rear dual camera setup and bothie feature, along with the build quality as Nokia has stated that Nokia 8 has been crafted from a single block of series 6000 Aluminium.

The Nokia 8 has been launched in Polished Blue, Tempered Blue, and Steel color variants as of now and the Polished Copper variant will go on sale a few weeks later. HM Global also said at the event that all Nokia 8 smartphones sold in India will be made in India.

Talking about the specs, the phone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and HMD Global has promised Android 8.0 Oreo on the device soon. It features a 5.3-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC (4 Kryo cores@2.5GHz and 4 Kryo cores @1.8GHz), coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The phone sports a dual rear camera setup, that includes two 13MP sensors on the back, along with one is an RGB sensor and features optical image stabilization (OIS), while the other is a monochrome sensor. Both the sensors have an aperture of f/2.0 with a pixel size of 1.12-micron. There is also phase detection autofocus (PDAF), a 76.9-degree wide-angle view, dual-tone LED flash and an IR blaster. On the front, there is another 13MP sensor with PDAF, 1.12-micron pixels, a f/2.0 aperture, and a 78.4-degree wide-angle lens. All three cameras come with Carl Zeiss optics.

The bothie feature is one of the biggest things that is being marketed by the brand as it allows users to take photos or videos using the front and rear cameras simultaneously. The Nokia 8 is also optimised for one-touch live-streaming via Facebook Live and YouTube Live. The Nokia 8 also comes with OZO Audio tech for spatial 360-degree audio recording using 3 microphones on the device.

The Nokia 8 comes with 64GB of storage, which can be expanded via microSD card up to 256GB. Connectivity options on the Nokia 8 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C (v3.1), and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor. The Nokia 8 packs a 3090mAh non-removable battery.

Nokia 8 is priced at Rs. 36,999, and with that price tag, it will compete with OnePlus 5. The smartphone will be available from October 14 on Amazon India, Croma, Reliance, Sangeetha Mobiles, Poorvika, and BigC, apart from other offline stores. Nokia 8 launch offers include 100GB of additional Jio data – 10GB extra data a month for up to 10 recharges (Rs. 309 and above) until August 2018. Consumers will also have access to special Nokia Mobile Care Concierge Service in 50 cities across the country. Consumers from 50 cities can avail of Nokia Mobile Care services from the convenience of their homes.
