Lenovo has finally launched their most awaited #KillerNote 8, oops, that’s by mistake, the K8 Note. This is the first smartphone from Lenovo with a dual camera and there are some more changes this time as compared to all other phones from Lenovo.
The Lenovo K8 Note is also the first phone from Lenovo after they ditched the Vibe UI which is, of course, a good move and the K8 Note comes with stock Android- No more bloatware, no more getting lost in tons of menus and hidden features. The phone also comes with a front 13-MP camera with a LED flash, probably for the selfie crazy people out there. The K8 Note ships with Android 7.1.1 Nougat and this time, we expect that updates will be smoother and faster and there are almost no customizations. The phone is built out of 5000-series aluminum and polycarbonate, which adds strength and sturdiness and the K8 Note is also said to be splash-resistant with water-repellent nano-coating.
The Lenovo K8 Note starts from Rs. 12,999, and it will be available exclusively via Amazon India from 12 PM on August 18. There the two variants- 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant and a 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant. The base model is priced at Rs. 12,999 while the higher end model is priced at Rs. 13,999. It will be made available in Fine Gold and Venom Black color variants. So, looks like in terms of features and pricing the K8 Note will compete with Honor 6X and Redmi Note 4 for sure.
Along with the phone, users will be able to avail the launch offers on the Lenovo K8 Note on Amazon India which includes a Rs. 900 discount on the Moto Sports Headphones, up to 80 percent off on Kindle ebooks (up to Rs. 300), and data offer from Idea Cellular which will offer up to 64GB of 4G data and unlimited calls for 56 days at Rs. 343.
Coming to the core specs, the Lenovo L8 Note sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by a deca-core MediaTek MT6797 SoC (4 Cortex-A53 @1.4GHz, 4 Cortex-A53@1.85GHz, and 2 Cortex-A72 @2.3GHz), coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM, and 32GB or 64GB of storage onboard.
The primary USP of the Lenovo K8 Note is its dual rear camera setup as the phone sports a 13-MP primary sensor and a 5-MP depth sensor, which lets the Lenovo K8 Note capture depth-of-field effects. The rear camera has a dual-LED CCT flash module. On the front, as we mentioned, there is a 13-MP camera with LED flash. Lenovo seems to follow the path of its own subsidiary brand Motorola as the Lenovo K8 Note ships with a dedicated microSD card (up to 128GB) slot.Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone is powered by a 4000mAh non-removable battery and supports rapid charging with the bundled 15W rapid charger in the box – Lenovo says this is the first smartphone from its stables to ship with a rapid charger.
Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone is powered by a 4000mAh non-removable battery and supports fast charging with the bundled 15W charger in the box, which is also very similar to Motorola as all the recent mid segment and higher end phones from Motorola supports the Turbo Charging and ships with their proprietary charger.
So, overall the Lenovo K8 Note seems very promising at this price, but we will know whether the claims and all the promises really get fulfilled in our detailed review. Stay tuned for it.
