ASUS has launched their latest flagship, the ASUS Zenfone AR in India, aimed towards tech enthusiast and performance crazy fans. The ASUS Zenfone AR is world’s first smartphone to have 8GB of RAM, and it is also the first one to have Google Tango and Daydream.First showcased at ‘CES 2017’ in January this year, the 5.7-inch ZenFone AR with a unique rear tri-camera system and 128GB internal storage.

The ASUS Zenfone AR was first showcased at CES 2017 in January this year and now the phone is officially available in India. The 5.7-inch ZenFone AR comes with a unique rear tri-camera system, 8B RAM, and 128GB internal storage, which is also expandable up to 2 TB. The ASUS Zenfone AR is available exclusively on Flipkart for ₹49,999.

The tri-camera module on the back of Zenfone AR comes with a 23MP main camera, a depth-sensing camera and motion-tracking camera with a ‘Super Resolution’ mode that can create massive 92MP image and capture 4K Ultra HD video. There is also an 8MP front-facing camera.

Commenting on its launch in India, Peter Chang, Regional Head, South Asia & Country Head, System Business Group-ASUS India said, “With ZenFone AR, we desire to turn your physical world into a magical world by enabling it to perceive space and motion that goes beyond the boundaries of a touch screen.” He added, “We’re excited to be a part of the augmented reality (AR) universe, which will soon be part of our lifestyle.”

In close cooperation with Google and Qualcomm, the ASUS ZenFone AR delivers high-quality AR and VR experiences and is the thinnest and lightest Tango-enabled device, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. The phone comes with a 5.7-inch 2K display and comes with ASUS SonicMaster 3.0 technology, along with a five-magnet speaker driven by a powerful “NXP smart amplifier”, which delivers clear, expansive sound.

The phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with ZenUI on top. The camera on Zenfone AR has a four-axis optical image stabilisation (OIS) for photos and three-axis electronic image stabilization (EIS) videos.

The Super Resolution mode is something that is capable of creating the ultra-high resolution, 92MP photos by capturing and combining four native 23MP photos to create a single image with exceptional clarity, greater detail and less noise. The phone also provides the photographers for shooting and storing photos in RAW format and has several professional manual controls like white balance, exposure value (EV), ISO sensitivity, shutter speed, and focus.

The phone packs a 3,300mAh battery pack with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0, which will let users charge the phone up to 60% within 45 minutes. The Zenfone AR is available exclusively via Flipkart and users can avail a discount of ₹2,500 on Google Daydream View VR Headset, along with the purchase of ZenFone AR on Flipkart.
