Huawei has taken part and is exhibiting at Interop Tokyo 2017, which is Japan’s largest ICT exhibition being held from June 7 to June 9, with a display themed “Leading New ICT, the Road to Digital Transformation”.

This year, Huawei has won six awards, including the Grand Prize in the Demonstration Category and Grand Prize in the Server & Storage Category. This year’s Interop aims to explore what the Internet is all about and what changes it will bring to our future society.

Huawei strives to become a driver of the intelligent world, and the first-choice partner of industries going through the digital transformation. The company has proposed the “platform + ecosystem” strategy and invested heavily in new technologies such as cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and Software-Defined Networking (SDN), aiming to create an open, flexible, secure, and agile ICT infrastructure platform.

The Best of Show Awards at Interop Tokyo 2017 were judged by a panel of industry experts, who recognized the unique technological strengths of Huawei’s innovative products and solutions, and awarded Huawei five prizes. The company’s heavy, long-term investment in new technologies such as cloud computing, IoT, big data, mobile broadband, and SDN, and its efforts to build an open, elastic, secure, and flexible ICT infrastructure platform, contributed to these awards.

The Huawei OceanStor Dorado V3 All Flash Storage won the Grand Prize in the Server & Storage Category. The panel said that the product is the first of its kind that has both the performance and reliability to support heavily loaded mission-critical services.

The E2E NB-IoT Service Quick Development Kit with Huawei SoftRadio and IoT Cloud Platform won the Grand Prize in the Demonstration Category. This kit enables developers to sustainably create commercial IoT solutions. It covers the entire process, from the development environment to deployment, operations, and global labs for support. The panel praised the solution, saying that Huawei had drawn on technology and business insights from around the world, and proved how IoT can be an important new domain for innovation.

These are not all. The global leader has also won another two Runners-up and two Special Prizes. The Huawei 4T Routing Line Card won Runners-up in the Carrier/ISP Networking category. Huawei’s Cloud Video Conferencing Endpoint, the Huawei TE10, won Runners-up in the Gadget category. 

The company also demonstrated several solutions in this year’s ShowNet – Interop’s major technology showcase. The LTE solution for broadband wireless access (BWA) developed by Huawei and Hanshin Electric Railway won the Best of ShowNet Special Prize.

Liu Shaowei, President of Huawei’s Network R&D Department, delivered a keynote on the topic of “Edge Computing: Open, Win-Win Ecosystem for the Digitization of Industries”. He said, “Edge computing is a key technology that will unlock the Internet of Things for many industries. It is also playing a critical role in converging operational technology (OT) with information and communication technology (ICT). Huawei has been investing in R&D on key edge computing technologies like agile and automated network management, open edge computing platforms, Time-Sensitive Networking, and Self-X networks. We focus on building the basic capacity around edge networking and computing, developing industry solutions, and helping our customers create value and succeed.” He also added, “Huawei aims to be an enabler and promoter of the intelligent world. We are committed to the principles of openness and win-win business, and we want to work with partners in all industries to jointly build better industry solutions and ecosystems. The Japanese market is extremely important to Huawei. We are ready to work with leading Japanese enterprises and organizations in all industries to find synergies and new growth. Together, we will build a world where all things sensing, all things connected, all things intelligent.”
