The Future of Smart Technologies in Televisions

The Future of Smart technology has already dawned in, and what awaits us is the next generation of an immersive viewing experience. Going back to the Kurzweil’s law of accelerating returns, which state that the capabilities of technology would accelerate exponentially, and looking at today’s television series it seems to be absolutely correct.

The Future of Smart Technologies in Television

The Television industry had seen a fairly slow growth in the past backed by the slow lurch in the technological progress. The TV’s in the 1970s were similar to 1950’s except for the color presence and till early 20th century our televisions were equipped with cathode ray tubes only. It is only in the latter half of 20th century that manufacturers stepped ahead and moved on to better picture quality with no more reliant on bulky tubes. The overall picture quality improved with better contrast and color resolution all molded in smaller bezels’ and thinner casing, and this is the time when we are entering a new age of TV, where distribution is being devalued, and entirely new models for programming are beginning to evolve.

LG Future OLED TV

With the advent of streaming devices such as Netflix and Hulu, we’re approaching a tipping point where what we used to call “TV” is morphing into something else entirely. Further, with LG’s OLED technology, the television have transformed completely. Televisions are not merely a family television anymore with capabilities to be connected with smartphones and other network devices instantly. Youngsters nowadays can watch shows such as Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad with a great experience similar to that of theater at the comfort of their home, and this is when we say

Televisions are not merely a family television anymore with capabilities to be connected with smartphones and other network devices instantly. Youngsters nowadays can watch shows such as Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad with a great experience similar to that of theater at the comfort of their home, and this is when we say “The Golden Age of Television” has come.

OLED is the major contender which will replace the once so-called high definition televisions which represented the pinnacle of display technology with the 4K ultra high definition technology TVs.

LG OLED TV

OLED’s superior picture quality and flexibility make it the perfect display format for the next generation of smart devices. With the LG 4K OLED TV, consumers are promised the ultimate complete cinematic viewing experience. Though in its initial phase, OLED was not readily accepted by the consumers due to the high price tag.

Hence, the R&D involved in the development of this technology has finally reduced the price for the first time, and it is expected that in the foreseeable future, improved versions of the OLED technology would be available at an affordable price.

LG 4K OLED TV

Unlike in the LED TV, each light-producing pixel of the 4K OLED TV is designed to be independently controlled because of which they react directly to electrical signals leading to 1000 times faster response speed than the standard LED TV. This remarkable leap forward in display technology ensures perfection in every aspect of deepest black, life-like colors to a clearer motion.

Future of Televisions

The Revolutionized design of LG’s OLED TV measure’s in at a mere 2.5mm, allowing it to nearly disappear when viewed from the side giving it a smart appeal. This ultra-sleek design, crystal black cover design and the blade screen of LG’s 4K OLED TV makes it a perfect choice for consumers living even in minuscule apartments where less space is an issue.

The absence of lighting back-panels in OLED displays makes them thinner and more power-efficient than LCDs. A thinner layer of organic material lights up when current passes through it, which helps save power.

LG Curved OLED TV

The transparent stand, evoking the sensation of a screen floating on air, has the effect of maximizing the immersive viewing experience by reducing visual clutter around the screen giving it a mainstream appeal.

The screen of LG OLED is slightly curved, which reduces visual geometric distortion by 50 percent at a typical 8 foot (2.4 meters) viewing distance.

Further, the curvature improves viewing from the sides away from the central sweet spot by giving better viewing experience than with a flat screen because the curved screen accommodates their viewing direction better by compensating for some of the uneven image foreshortening that is seen on a flat screen.

LG 4K OLED Colors

The LG’s 4K OLED TV features 33 million color sub-pixels and self-lighting pixels, for the most lifelike colors. The 4 color pixel technology in 4K OLED TV enhances both color range and accuracy, and the stunning picture quality of OLED allows the user to experience the perfect home theater system. Further, its blur-free clarity during even the fast moving scenes on screen action sets it completely apart. Users can also enjoy Cinema in 3D along with OLED picture quality.

The independent lighting pixels makes them control their luminance offering an infinite contrast ratio which is glare-resistant. Further, in this era of smart technology, LG’s 4K OLED TV does not lag behind as it has inbuilt smart interface feature called the WebOS which makes the navigation simpler and allows for an intuitive operability.

LG WebOS TV

The Web OS based smart TV is ultra-sleek and offers mesmerizing experience to users wanting to enjoy movies, play games or socialize. The Simple Connectivity feature allows the user to connect their smartphones to the television within the same Wi-Fi range making the smartphone act as a remote for their TV, enabling them to watch live videos.

LG Magic Remote

What makes this TV stand out is the Magic Remote feature which acts as a computer mouse for the Smart TV. This remote plays the role of a universal remote with a simple point and click feature and even supports voice recognition. The technology that powers OLED continues to improve with each passing day, meaning that the OLED era is even closer than you think.
